AST SpaceMobile, a Texas-based company, announced the opening of a new research and development (R&D) services hub and space technology development centre in Hyderabad.
The unit will be located within a technology park in Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City in Hyderabad, and is expected to house an R&D laboratory, network operations centre, and engineering space.
According to AST SpaceMobile, this innovative facility will focus on next-generation hardware, software, space-related technologies, and operations. The company is developing a space-based cellular broadband network that will be directly accessible by regular mobile phones.
