Arista Networks has reportedly announced plans to invest $1 billion in India, focusing on domestic manufacturing and expanding local hiring.

With this move, Arista joins vendors Nokia and Ericsson, which already manufacture various equipment, including 5G radios and antennas, in the country.

Furthermore, Arista is reportedly making significant investments in its manufacturing partners by providing them with training, technology, and capability development. These measures aim to enable partners to hire more local personnel, expand operations, and contribute to the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Additionally, the Arista has partnered with contract manufacturers Sanmina Corporation and Voice, Video, Data, Network (VVDN) to produce campus equipment and data centre products in Chennai and Gurugram, respectively. It is also open to manufacturing additional equipment for use in India and the wider Asian market.

According to the company, a portion of the investment will also go toward research and development and software development.
