According to comScore MobiLens service, Apple is the leading smartphone manufacturer in the US with 36.3 per cent share market for the three month ending December 2012.
Apple is followed by Samsung which is placed second with 21 per cent market share, followed by HTC with 10.2 per cent market share. Motorola and LG are ranked fourth and fifth with a market share of 9.1 per cent and 7.1 per cent, respectively.
The study by comScore MobiLens service shows that 125.9 million people in the US owned smartphones with 54 per cent mobile market penetration during the three months ending December 2012.
As per the study results Google Android ranked as the top smartphone platform with 53.4 per cent market share (up 0.9 percentage points from September 2012), while Apple?s share increased by 2 percentage points to 36.3 per cent. Blackberry ranked third with 6.4 per cent market share, followed by Microsoft and Symbian with 2.9 per cent and 0.6 per cent market share.
