Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Russian telecom operator Golden Telecom to deploy fibre-to-the-building networks in 10 cities in Russia.

Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Russian telecom operator Golden Telecom to deploy fibre-to-the-building networks in 10 cities in Russia. As per the deal, Alcatel-Lucent will supply 25,000 OmniStack 6224 Ethernet switches to Golden Telecom for developing in-building and distributed access networks, and 365 OmniSwitch 6850 Layer 3 Ethernet switches for the delivery of line-rate gigabit switching and routing performance.
