Alcatel-Lucent and US-based satellite communications provider ICO Global Communications have reportedly entered into a contract whereby Alcatel-Lucent will develop the system architecture and network design, and provide equipment, engineering, end-to-end network integration services and implementation services for ICO’s alpha trial of mobile interactive media services in 2008.

These services will be provided over ICO’s integrated satellite and terrestrial network.
