As per a report by CLSA, Bharti Airtel’s recent cashback offer on purchase of smartphones is targeted at migration of 2G subscribers to 4G services and will likely be average revenue per user (ARPU)-accretive for the telco in the coming quarters.
The new offer grants a cashback on purchase of smartphones priced upto Rs 12,000. CLSA also believes that the offer would also help Airtel reduce churn.
It added that the timing of the launch is positive too, ahead of the JioPhone Next launch in November 2021.
