Tata Communications has been awarded a $20 million multi-year contract from the Germany-based manufacturer of material handling equipment, KION Group. Under the deal, Tata Communications will provide global wide area network (WAN) services to the group’s 280 sites and 22,000 employees across 30 countries worldwide.
Under this deal, Tata Communications will replace the KION Group?s existing stable of multiple WAN providers with a single, global network. The KION Group will have direct access to internet-based applications using Tata Communications? cloud security solution, which improves both user experience and cost effectiveness.
Tata Communications? WAN platform blends KION Group’s private WAN with public internet connections, and understands the type of data that users are demanding from it. It can also react to different data and applications in real-time. The deal will thus allow the end users to avail faster services, with better data management with the Tata Communications WAN platform.
