Admitting a petition filed by Reliance Communications (RCOM) regarding its dispute with state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) over the payment of Rs 4.35 billion as access deficit charges (ADC), TDSAT has directed the public sector firm not to disconnect any point of interconnection (PoI) until further orders were given. The Supreme Court had earlier held that BSNL’s 1.6 million WLL phones were mobile phones and that the company could not levy ADC on RCOM for calls originating fromthe latter’s network to the BSNL network.
