The railway telecom infrastructure provider, RailTel Corporation of India has launched free Wi-Fi service at New Delhi railway station. With the launch, the commuters at the station will be able to avail a free Wi-Fi service for the first half hour of use, after which they would be charged for further use.

The commuters would have to spend Rs 25 for 30 minutes and Rs 35 for an hour for buying extra time after the free initial half hour. The extra time for the service can either be purchased online using credit cards, or through scratch cards from Wi-Fi helpdesks at Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate sides of the station.

Further, the Indian Railways is planning to start the Wi-Fi service across 400 stations in the country. The work has already commenced in the 75 A1 category stations, including Dadar, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Thane, Chennai Central and Trivandrum Central.
