The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has directed Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel to clearly state the terms and conditions of their unlimited 5G data offerings to customers. According to industry sources, both telcos can continue to offer unlimited 5G data but would need to explain the terms and conditions in a more elaborate manner. Currently, there are no rules that bar a telecom operator from offering unlimited plans. However, their tariffs should not be below costs.

According to TRAI, it is planning to make its “do not disturb” (DND) app compatible with all Android devices by March 2024. The regulator is fixing bugs in the app, to help mobile subscribers report pesky calls and text messages immediately. Further, TRAI is also planning to make the app compatible with iOS devices.
