Nunzio Mirtillo, senior vice president and head of Market Area South East Asia, Oceania and India, at Ericsson, will retire in 2024. Nunzio has been with the company for 35 years and has made significant contributions to its success. Meanwhile, the company has restructured its executive team with the appointment of Chris Houghton as chief operating officer (COO) and Asa Tamsons as head of business area enterprise wireless solutions (BEWS). Houghton has worked with Ericsson for 35 years and is currently senior vice president, Market Area North East Asia. In his new role, he will focus on cross-group initiatives, including cost efficiency initiatives. Meanwhile, Tamsons is currently senior vice president, business area technologies and new business (BTEB). In her new role, she will focus on expanding the enterprise wireless solutions business and accelerating progress towards break even. The appointments of Houghton and Tamsons are effective from November 1, 2023. Furthermore, George Mul­hern, senior vice president and head, BEWS, Ericsson, will serve as adviser to BEWS, effective November 1, 2023, and will retire from Ericsson in 2024.
