Bharti Airtel has rolled out 5G services on the 26 GHz spectrum band across all 22 telecom circles in the nation, in accordance with the norms laid down by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to meet the minimum rollout obligation (MRO) criteria.

According to Airtel, the telco has already fulfilled the application criteria and requisition for complying with the MRO norms.  Following this, the DoT has conducted a testing exercise in the Mumbai licensed service area (LSA).

Earlier, Airtel had tested 5G services and data speeds on both the 26 GHz and 3,300 MHz bands in West Bengal. Post this, the DoT’s West Bengal service area wing undertook testing for checking the MRO norms.
