The parliamentary standing committee on information technology (IT) has prepared a 40-page report on the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Bill 2023 which will be tabled in the ongoing monsoon session in the parliament.
The report states that it firmly believes in the implementation of the bill and that it will be a turning point in the domain of data processing, as it brings the previously unregulated landscape under comprehensive regulation in a seamless and non-disruptive manner.
In the conclusion of the 12-page recommendation, which will be the subset of the 40-page report, the committee agrees with provisions of the draft bill, in no uncertain words recommended, that the DPDP Bill 2023 should be enacted into the law without any further delay.
