Union Minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju has stated that all inhabited Northeastern and border area villages will be connected via 4G by December 2023.

The statement was made when Rijiju was in the region to review the 4G saturation project which aims to deliver 4G connectivity to all villages in the Northeast.

At present, 43 per cent of 11,000 villages enrolled under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) scheme do not have an Internet connection.
