Reliance Communications (RCOM) plans to launch 3G services in five more telecom circles – Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh (East), thereby expanding its 3G footprint to 18 circles across the country.

Subscribers will be able to access 3G services in five circles beginning June 20, 2014. Since, RCOM does not own 3G spectrum in these circles, it has entered into 3G intra-circle roaming pacts with the operators to offer 3G service to its users.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2014, RCOM had 37.4 million data customers, including 12.9 million 3G customers, making the operator the country?s leading 3G provider.
