The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has extended the deadline for compliance with the norms on cybersecurity to September 25, 2022.
The relaxation of nearly 60 days to follow the deadline has been given to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), data centres, virtual private server (VPS), virtual private network (VPN) and cloud service providers.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the extension has been provided after the MSMEs, data centres, VPS, VPN and cloud service providers sought time to build the capacity required for the implementation of the guidelines. The requirement of registration and maintenance of data of subscribers and customers by the aforementioned entities would stand as is, and become effective September 25, 2022.
