As per the latest data released by the Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), about 794 organisations worldwide are deploying either long-term evolution (LTE) or 5G private mobile networks, while over 70 telecom operators are undertaking these projects.
According to GSA, private mobile network deployments are now truly global, with GSA registering 68 countries and territories where customers have deployed private networks based on LTE or 5G. Despite the global rollout of 5G networks, LTE (76 per cent) is preferred more widely among organisations for private network deployments.
As per GSA data, the manufacturing sector, followed by the education and mining sectors, is the largest adopter with 140 organisations involved in known pilots or deployments, as compared to 111 in 2021.
