The government has informed the Delhi High Court that Twitter seems to be in accordance with the Information Technology Rules, 2021, having filled all three essential posts specified by the rules.
Twitter informed the single-judge bench of Justice Rekha Palli that it recruited Vinay Prakash as a third-party contractor in July for the position of chief compliance officer and resident grievance officer, with the intention of making his employment full-time.
Additionally, Twitter said that Prakash was hired for the job of public policy director and that he would report directly to Jim Baker, Twitter Inc.’s vice president of law.
The court has now granted the government and petitioner time to file counter-affidavits.
The case will now be heard on October 5, 2021.
