The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has allocated the spectrum for 5G field trials to Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) with Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) as its technology partner.
MTNL will conduct trials in the Najafgarh area of Delhi.
Earlier, in May 2021 Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea were given the spectrum to conduct 5G trials across select cities in India. Meanwhile, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has not applied for 5G trials yet.
