According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) data for voice calls on its MyCall portal, Vodafone Idea has topped the charts in terms of voice quality in the industry.
The ratings were on a scale of 1-5, and it took into consideration indoor and outdoor voice call quality in December 2020.
As per the data, Idea received a 4.8 average indoor and outdoor call quality rating along with a 95.95 per cent satisfactory rating in December 2020. Further, Vodafone retained its second spot on the TRAI charts with an average 4.3 voice quality rating and 85.05 per cent satisfactory rating. Vodafone and Idea were the only industry players to score ratings above 4, for both November and December 2020.
Meanwhile, BSNL’s rating dipped marginally in December 2020 as compared to November 2020, receiving an average rating of 3.9 for voice call quality and a satisfactory rating of 76.58 per cent. This figure had been at 4.1 in November 2020.
On the contrary, Reliance Jio improved its voice call quality rating in the month, getting an average rating of 3.9 and a satisfactory rating of 77.81 per cent.
However, Airtel witnessed a significant decline in its rating, recording a voice quality rating of 3.1, as against 3.8 in November 2020. Further, Airtel witnessed a drop in its satisfaction rating from 75.21 per cent in November to 59.46 per cent in December 2020.
