The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the findings of independent drive tests (IDTs) conducted across Barmer, Balotra, Pachpadra and adjoining areas in Rajasthan during June 2026 to assess the quality of mobile network services offered by telecom service providers (TSPs). The drive tests covered 350.3 km of city routes and seven hotspot locations between June 1 and June 4, 2026, under the Rajasthan licensed service area (LSA).

According to the findings, Reliance Jio recorded the lowest coverage gap, with 355 out of 28,540 samples showing poor signal strength, followed by Airtel with 874 out of 28,421 samples. Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) and BSNL registered 4,378 and 6,332 poor signal strength samples respectively. In terms of call performance, Airtel reported zero dropped calls out of 255 successfully established calls, while Reliance Jio recorded two dropped calls out of 260 calls, Vi reported seven dropped calls out of 251 calls and BSNL recorded eight dropped calls out of 183 calls. Airtel also recorded no call silence instances, while Reliance Jio, BSNL and Vi reported three, 24 and 30 call silence instances respectively.

For mobile data performance, Reliance Jio recorded the highest average download throughput at 228.12 Mbps, followed by Airtel at 145.06 Mbps, Vi at 22.40 Mbps and BSNL at 8.11 Mbps. Airtel recorded the highest average upload throughput at 24.57 Mbps, followed by Reliance Jio at 22.28 Mbps, Vi at 10.99 Mbps and BSNL at 3.60 Mbps.

The drive tests covered locations including Gadra Road, Gagriya, Ramsar, Bhachbhar, Barmer, Uttarlai, Kawas, Lapla, Baytu, Gol Station, Tilwara, Balotra, Jerla and Pachpadra. TRAI said the findings have been shared with the respective TSPs for necessary action, while the detailed drive test report has been made available on its website.
