R&M has offered the local area network (LAN) connection modules as a shielded version with a zinc die-cast housing and as an unshielded version with a plastic housing, in the Cat. 6A EL 4.0 version, metal fibres in a plastic housing reduce alien crosstalk, which attenuates signal transmission. The EL 4.0 module range covers all requirements of building, office, and IT networks up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The ISO module range also provides additional system margins and enables transmission rates of up to 40 Gbit/s.

Background reports can be found in the series of specialist magazines CONNECTIONS from R&M. The next issue will be published in April and contains even more additional information on RJ45 harmonization and the history of Category 5e to Category 8.1 connectivity technology for local data networks, which R&M has helped to shape since the 1990s.
