Additionally, JPL filed 1,037 international patents during FY25, ahead of TVS Motor (238), CSIR (70), IIT Madras (44), Ola Electric Mobility (31), Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions (27), Hero Motocorp (20), and other entities, as per figures from the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks.

Further, including its domestic filings, JPL’s total patent applications for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, reached 1,654. Jio held 485 granted patents, reinforcing its position among India’s largest patent holders, particularly in the areas of 5G and 6G technologies.

The telecom company has built an indigenous 5G technology stack, anchored by a domestically developed 5G Core, and is rolling out its home connectivity solutions across the country. In parallel, Reliance has put in place a robust intellectual property governance framework to develop, protect and manage its patent portfolio, ensuring it remains closely aligned with the company’s long-term strategic priorities.
