Bharti Airtel has rolled out its mobile network services in Man and Merak, two of the most remote villages situated on the eastern border of Ladakh near Pangong Lake. The stretch between Man and Merak has historically faced complete connectivity gaps, with no telecom network available across nearly 50-kilometres (km) of this route.
Airtel noted that the introduction of high-speed network services in these villages marks a significant milestone, as it will allow residents, security personnel and tourists to remain connected in one of India’s most challenging terrains.
Additionally, with this deployment, the full route between Chushul and Pangong Tso now has network coverage, substantially enhancing the tourism potential of this globally known destination.
