Suresh Rathod, President – Colocation, CtrlS Datacenters

Suresh Rathod leads CtrlS Datacenters’ colocation business with a clear mandate: execute gigawatt-scale campuses in India while sustaining industry-leading EBITDA margins and expanding into Tier II and III cities and select international markets.

He sees the data centre landscape at an inflection point. AI, ML and edge computing are spurring demand for high-density capacity, while sovereign cloud and data localisation are pushing enterprises toward hybrid and multi-cloud strategies.

With over three decades across data centres and telecom, Rathod has built businesses from the ground up to multimillion-dollar scale. He held leadership roles at Reliance Communications, Crompton Greaves and BPL Telecom, where he built strong enterprise sales and business development skills. He has managed complete lifecycles, from account evangelisation and wins to profit and loss ownership, product development and go-to-market execution. At CtrlS, he is advancing gigawatt campuses and edge presence, serving hyperscale clients and large enterprises while maintaining profitability through innovative models.

What energises him most is being at the forefront of India’s digital infrastructure push. “Making India a global hub of data centres is truly my life mission.” For Rathod, scaling capacity goes hand in hand with enabling the digital economy and democratising access beyond metros via a deeper Tier II footprint.

His ambitions span strategic growth, new-market entry and on-time project delivery. He manages relationships with hyperscalers and strategic clients, shapes solutions for evolving workloads, leads go-to-market with sales and business development, protects margins, and identifies new revenue streams.

Rathod’s strengths combine strategic vision with execution excellence. He is known for building motivated teams, cultivating deep relationships to close complex, multimillion-dollar deals, and creating profitable, capital-efficient businesses. “I practice a results-oriented, collaborative leadership approach,” he says, emphasising clear targets, autonomy with accountability and hands-on support in high-stakes moments.

His educational foundation combines technical and business knowledge that has been instrumental in his career and is continually refreshed through executive learning, industry forums and thought-leadership platforms.

Outside work, he tracks tech trends closely, stays active and spends time with family. He enjoys travelling and mentoring young professionals entering the data centre industry. Family support has been the cornerstone of his journey, helping him balance growth phases and travel while bringing his best self to work.
