Telecom operators have reportedly started pilot runs of the calling name presentation (CNAP) feature, which displays a caller’s name on incoming calls, with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) targeting an all-India rollout by March 31, 2026.

According to DoT sources, Vodafone Idea Limited has already launched its CNAP pilot in Haryana, while Reliance Jio is conducting a similar trial in the same circle for calls made across the country. Further, with pilots now underway, the DoT plans to accelerate efforts for a nationwide implementation of CNAP.
