Airtel
Bharti Airtel has partnered with Perplexity, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered search and answer engine, to offer a 12-month Perplexity Pro subscription free of cost to all Airtel customers across mobile, Wi-Fi and direct-to-home (DTH) services. The Perplexity Pro subscription, globally priced at Rs 17,000 per year, is now available at no cost for Airtel users and they can claim the offer via the Airtel Thanks app.
The telco is offering a Google One subscription worth Rs 780 free of cost to its Wi-Fi and post-paid customers. Prepaid users are not eligible for this benefit. As part of a partnership with Google, Airtel is giving users access to the base Google One plan, which includes 100 GB of cloud storage, completely free for the first six months. After the free period, customers will be charged Rs 125 per month, instead of the standard Rs 130, effectively receiving a Rs 5 monthly discount.
The company has discontinued its own Rs 249 prepaid plan. This plan, regarded as one of Airtel’s most accessible entry-level recharges, offered 1 GB of data per day, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, 100 SMSs per day and a validity of 24 days.
Vi
Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has expanded its Nonstop Hero bundled prepaid plans to new circles, including Kolkata, Maharashtra and Goa. These plans allow users to consume “unlimited data” capped at 300 GB of high speed data over 28 days. There are three prepaid plans under this offering:
- The plan priced at Rs 398 offers 28 days of validity, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSs per day. After consuming the 300 GB quota, speeds are reduced.
- The plan priced at Rs 698 comes with 56 days of validity, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSs per day.
- The plan priced at Rs 1,048 offers 84 days of validity, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSs per day.
The telco has introduced the Vi Guarantee Programme for prepaid customers using 2G handsets. The programme offers two extra days of validity on every unlimited voice recharge of Rs 199 and above. Users can benefit up to 12 times a year, effectively gaining 24 additional days in total.
Jio
Reliance Jio has discontinued two of its most affordable prepaid plans: a plan priced at Rs 209, offering 22 days of validity and 1 GB of data per day, and the other plan priced at Rs 249 pack offering 28 days of validity and 1 GB per day. According to the company, the discontinued plans can still be purchased at physical retail outlets, but for most users who recharge digitally, the base tariff has effectively been reset to Rs 299, which offers 28 days validity and 1.5 GB data per day.
BSNL
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has revised its Rs 107 prepaid plan, reducing the validity while keeping the benefits unchanged. The plan still offers 3 GB of data, 200 minutes of free voice calling and reduced speeds of 40 kbps after data exhaustion. However, the validity has now been cut to 28 days, from the earlier 35 days.
The company has launched the “Azadi Ka Plan” priced at just Re 1 for new users, aiming to attract fresh subscribers and promote its 4G services. The Re 1 plan offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMSs per day and 2 GB of data per day, all with 30 days of validity. A free SIM is also included. The offer is available from August 1 to 31, 2025.
The telco has also revised its Rs 197 prepaid plan, reducing its overall validity and changing the benefits. Earlier, the plan offered 2 GB of data per day, unlimited calls and 100 SMSs per day for 15 days, with a total validity of 70 days. Now, the plan offers 4 GB of total data, 300 minutes of calling and 100 SMSs, all valid for 54 days.
In addition, the telco has rolled out a new Yatra SIM, priced at Rs 196 for pilgrims undertaking the Amarnath Yatra 2025. The SIM comes with 15 days of validity and is designed to provide strong network connectivity along the Yatra routes. Customers can purchase the Yatra SIM from BSNL camps set up at Lakhanpur, Bhagwati Nagar, Chanderkote, Pahalgam, Baltal and other designated locations.
