Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is preparing a tender for 0.3-0.4 million new 4G sites, restricted to Indian technology vendors. The new infrastructure will be designed to support a future upgrade to 5G.
According to the minister of state for communications and rural development, BSNL is positioning itself as an affordable alternative in the market, offering lower tariffs to customers who were left out after private carriers withdrew entry-level packs. He clarified that, unlike rivals, BSNL will not increase tariffs but instead focus on affordability to expand its customer base. ‘
