The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in collaboration with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), has successfully transferred 10 advanced space technologies to six Indian private companies.

This strategic initiative is aimed at reducing India’s reliance on imported technologies, enhancing private sector innovation, and bolstering domestic manufacturing. It aligns with the country’s broader goal of capturing 8 per cent of the global space market by 2033 and growing its space economy to $44 billion.

Further, the technologies transferred span across the full space value chain, from upstream components like inertial sensors, to midstream ground station infrastructure, and downstream applications such as geospatial services and specialised coatings.

Notably, several recipient companies are based in Hyderabad (Zetatek, Avantel, Jisnu) and Ahmedabad (Amnex, Jalkruti, Ramdev Chemicals), indicating a focused effort to create regional hubs of space tech expertise. These clusters are expected to leverage local industrial strengths and talent pools, driving further investment and innovation.
