The Jammu & Kashmir administration has approved the transfer of land to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the saturation of 4G mobile services in all uncovered villages of the union territory.

The approval to complete this transfer free of charge was given by the administrative council under the chairmanship of Lt governor Manoj Sinha. There are about 303 villages that are to be covered under this scheme to ensure seamless connectivity under the Universal Service Obligation Fund. The deputy commissioners have been given a timeline of 15 days by the administrative council to finish the task of identifying the land in all the 303 villages.
