The government of Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat are reportedly preparing incentive schemes to attract large-scale electronic component manufacturers, aiming to boost local factory setups. This move comes as part of a broader race among Indian states following the central government’s incentive package to strengthen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem.

Gujarat is rapidly emerging as a semiconductor and electronics hub, with companies like Micron, CG Power, and Tata Electronics developing chip manufacturing and assembly plants in regions such as Dholera and Sanand. Similarly, Uttar Pradesh is also planning to leverage its position, with Noida growing into promising electronics manufacturing centre.

In addition, other states such as Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, etc., are stepping up efforts to attract investments in electronic component manufacturing and are assessing the policy landscape to frame their own strategies.
