Dixon Technologies has signed an agreement with NxtCell India Private Limited to manufacture smartphones for the French telecom brand Alcatel. According to the regulatory filing, the production will be carried out by Dixon’s wholly owned subsidiary, Padget Electronics, and is expected to begin within the next 12 to 18 months.
This partnership marks Alcatel’s foray into local manufacturing in India, supporting the government’s push for domestic value addition in the telecom sector. Further, Alcatel, through NxtCell, is investing $30 million to re-enter the Indian market with a new portfolio of smartphones, feature phones, and related consumer tech products starting May 2025.
