The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted approval for Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons, to acquire a majority stake in Pegatron Technology, India. The proposed combination aims to acquire the majority shareholding of Pegatron India in two tranches.

Tata Electronics has also been granted permission to transfer the business of TEL Components, a subsidiary of TEPL, to Pegatron India.

TEPL, through Tata Electronics Systems Solutions, formerly known as Wistron Infocomm Manufacturing India, is also engaged in the provision of electronics manufacturing services for smartphones.
