
Neelesh Kripalani: CTO, Clover Infotech
Neelesh Kripalani, currently serving as chief technology officer (CTO) at Clover Infotech, has over two decades of experience in the areas of strategy planning and management, IT services delivery, banking implementation, people management and IT operations management. In his current role, Kripalani leads the research and analysis of disruptive technologies, driving the centre of excellence (CoE) at Clover Infotech to enable the digital transformation of its clients. He is also responsible for spearheading automation initiatives, enhancing the organisational quality and fostering capacity building in emerging technologies. Under his leadership, the company has established strong cybersecurity practices, further reinforcing
its position as a trusted technology partner.
Prior to this, he served as the head of operations in India for Agile Financial Technologies. He has also held the position of associate vice president, technology, at Tech Process Solutions Limited, Mumbai.
Kripalani believes that the world is driven by information technology. “Every industry is undergoing digital transformation in some form or another. Our customers, across industries, are looking to modernise their applications landscape, leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud, and make use of data to augment strategic decision-making,” he says. According to him, organisations must now comply with the latest data protection laws and practices and strive to use data responsibly and ethically. Further, they should regularly train employees on data privacy best practices to effectively manage the challenges posed by generative AI (GenAI), while leveraging its benefits responsibly and ethically.
Kripalani is of the view that as the industry moves forward, cybersecurity is becoming a critical business functionality and an integral business process. In the face of evolving cybersecurity threats, businesses should adopt robust strategies, including comprehensive risk assessment, strong authentication measures, regular updates and employee training, to safeguard their assets and critical systems.
When asked about his management style, Kripalani says that he believes in giving his teams a chance to express themselves before taking a decision. “Empowering and then enabling people to excel with the necessary support is my style of management,” he adds.
Kripalani is a graduate in science from Mumbai University and holds a master’s degree in Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He usually unwinds by reading biographies as well as technology and management books.
