Raju Bista, a member of Parliament, has announced the completion of a Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) fibre installation from Siliguri to Kalimpong. Thiswill improve Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) connectivity in the region and address internet connectivity issues in Kalimpong, particularly during monsoon season when landslides disrupt services.
As per Bista, BSNL has confirmed the fibre connection activation and expressed gratitude to PGCIL for bandwidth and infrastructure upgrade support.
BSNL plays a crucial role in providing internet services to essential public and government institutions. However, frequent disruptions have hampered public and administrative work in the region. With the installation of the PGCIL fibre, these issues are expected to be resolved, ensuring more reliable and stable internet access.
