The Telangana government has signed 26 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with companies including OpenAl, Meta, NVIDIA, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft, Yotta Data Services and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), among others.

These MoUs were signed across seven key sectors, focusing on computer infrastructure, centres of excellence, skill development, start-up innovation, generative artificial intelligence (GenAl), research and collaboration, and data annotation.

Telangana is also setting up an Al city near Hyderabad spread over 200 acres for companies specialising in Al. Meanwhile, key agreements were also signed to boost the state’s Al infrastructure, including graphics processing unit (GPU)-powered Al cloud centre in Hyderabad. This will serve as a tech backbone, driving Al research, data processing, and computational excellence.

Further, a Centre of Excellence is on the horizon, focusing on Al advancements in public health, e-sports, gaming, and digital content, through a partnership with Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) and Nazara Technologies. Furthermore, Nextwave, AWS, and Microsoft are collaborating with Telangana to upskill 0.25 million students and professionals, providing them with Al expertise that will fuel the state’s future workforce.

Telangana is also leveraging Meta’s GenAl technologies including the Llama 3.1 model to enhance governance and public services, pushing the envelope in Al-enabled e-governance. Meanwhile, a three-year partnership with NVIDIA will see 5,000 students trained in Al across 200 institutions, further strengthening the state’s Al talent pool.

On the research front, Telangana’s partnership with J-PAL will drive Al-focused research to tackle critical developmental challenges, underlining the state’s commitment to using Al for social good.

Moreover, Telangana has signed a MoU with Kaynes Technology India Limited to establish a Rs 28 billion outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Hyderabad.
