Bharti Infratel is in advanced talks with Idea Cellular and Vodafone India to buy out their telecom towers at a valuation of up to Rs 100.80 billion.

Vodafone and Idea are likely to sell 11,000 – 12,000 and 9,000 towers respectively. The company will fund the acquisition with equity and debt. .

The acquisition of the telecom towers is expected to add five per cent to 11 per cent to Bharti Infratel’s valuation. The two operators would use the proceeds from the sales to upgrade their infrastructure and to repay their loans.
