Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in partnership with QuadGen Wireless Solutions Private Limited has unveiled the 5G Wi-Fi service in three tourist locations of Kailasagiri, Beach Road and Vuda Park in Vishakhapatnam. The company is planning to extend this service to other public places like Bus Station, Railway Station, and Andhra University campus.

Each Wi-Fi hotspot offers a maximum speed of 1.2 Gbps and has the capacity to connect 600-700 users at one go. The visitors at the hotspots can avail the Wi-Fi service free of cost every day for 15 to 30 minutes, beyond which they can recharge with the help of online or paper vouchers of different denominations, to continue using the service. The smallest denomination of recharge available is Rs 30 offering 300 MB data.

Meanwhile, BSNL is planning to offer Wi-Fi facility in Mangalore. Under this project, BSNL will provide Wi-Fi coverage with multiple hotspots at select locations in the district, including the Mangalore International Airport. The company is also planning to install ?Next Generation Network? telephone exchanges at eight locations in the district. The Next Generation Network will enable services such as voice, video, data, multimedia, broadcasting and multi-casting services.
