Taiwan-based network equipment manufacturing company, D-Link is planning to invest Rs 3.5 billion in Telangana. This investment includes setting up of a global research and development facility and network training institute in Telangana and expanding its presence in Hyderabad. These initiatives are likely to help create employment for 1,000 people.

D-Link has also signed an agreement with the state government to deploy Wi-Fi hotspots to help provide wireless internet access to all citizens and institutions. Under the agreement, the company will also upgrade government networking infrastructure to meet the latest security standards, reducing the risk of vulnerabilities and cyber-attacks.
