Microsoft has introduced two new smartphones – the Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 15,799. The Lumia 640 will be exclusively available on Flipkart, meanwhile the Lumia 640 XL will be available both online and offline retail stores.

The Lumia 640 features a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels, meanwhile the Lumia 640 XL sports a 5.7 inch HD IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The Lumia 640 supports a 8 megapixel rear camera and a 0.9 megapixel front camera. And the Lumia 640 XL supports a 13 megapixel rear camera with Zeiss optics and a 5 megapixel front camera.

Both the devices run on Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, with Lumia Denim update out-of-the-box and powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. The Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL support dual SIMcards and offer 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB using a microSD card.

The Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL support applications such as like Cortana, Skype, Office, Outlook, and OneDrive.  Microsoft is offering a one-year personal subscription to Office 365 with both the smartphones and free subscription of 1 TB of storage on OneDrive. In addition, buyers purchasing the devices till June 2015 can also avail special offers from MobiKwik and Ola.
