Bharti Airtel has partnered with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to provide technological skills to 5,000 people in the Sub-Saharan African nation of Gabon under ?Train My Generation: Gabon 5,000? programme. This is the first instance where UNESCO has collaborated with a private organisation in the region.

The partnership aims to offer scientific and entrepreneurial training to 5,000 people in the age group of 18-35 years and high-school teachers in Gabon through the medium of information and communication technology (ICT). Under the project, the two parties will establish 10 cyber centres equipped with servers and computers at schools in Libreville, Port Gentil, Oyem, Franceville, Bitam and Lambarene.

The first phase will comprise of basic ICT training to people along with training in online teaching to 100 secondary education science teachers. In the second phase, the teachers will use their skills to provide online educational support to 15,000 secondary school students.
