Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has reported an increase in losses to Rs 76.8 million for the six month period ended September 2014 as against Rs 40.6 million in the corresponding six month period in 2013. The increase in losses for RJIL can be attributed to its infrastructure sharing deals for the launch of 4G services in 2015.
However, the total revenues for the company were the same in April-September 2014 from April-September 2013 at Rs 0.2 million.
RJIL is yet to commence broadband services in the country. It owns broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum in the 2300 MHz band in all the 22 circles. Recently, it signed a master service agreement with Indus Towers for tower sharing.
