
Bharti Infratel has registered a 29 per cent increase in profits from Rs 3.58 billion in the quarter ended June 2013 to Rs 4.63 billion for the corresponding quarter in 2014. The company?s revenues grew by 8 per cent from Rs 26.22 billion to Rs 28.43 billion during the same period.
The increase in profits can be attributed to the increase in demand for telecom infrastructure as more customers are using internet services on their mobile phones.
For the company, the consolidated total expenses for the April-June 2014 quarter stood at Rs 16.57 billion, with power and fuel expenses accounting for the highest share at Rs 10.56 billion. The consolidated earnings before taxes, interest and amortisation for Bharti Infratel grew by 13 per cent from Rs 10.46 in June 2013 to Rs 11.85 billion in the same quarter in 2014.
The Board of Directors of Bharti Infratel have also declared an interim dividend of Rs 4.50 per share, amounting to a total payout of Rs 9.95 billion including the dividend distribution tax.
