
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has signed an agreement with Videocon Telecom to lease the latter?s towers in the Uttar Pradesh (West), Uttar Pradesh (East) and Bihar circles. Videocon Telecom has a portfolio of 500 telecom tower sites in these circles.
This is RJIL?s seventh tower sharing deal. The company has already signed similar agreements with Bharti Infratel, Reliance Communications, Viom Networks, Ascend Telecom, ATC India and Tower Vision.
Videocon Telecom has stated that it intends to deploy 6,000 additional towers within a year for rolling out its 4G services. Further, the company plans to share these sites with RJIL. It will also explore additional collaboration opportunities with RJIL for 4G network sharing, optical fibre network sharing and internet broadband services.
