
At the end of the sixth day of the spectrum auction, the government has received bids worth Rs 565.54 billion. So far, the government has held 43 rounds of bidding and is expected to earn minimum revenue of Rs 165.7 billion in 2014.
On the sixth day of the spectrum auction, the government witnessed additional demand for spectrum in the Assam and Maharashtra circles in 1800 the MHz band. The spectrum price per block in the Assam and the Maharashtra circles increased by Rs 4,00,000 and Rs 10.4 million, respectively.
The price for spectrum in the Assam circle in the 1,800 MHz band increased three times over the base price to Rs 42.2 million per block. The Assam circle witnessed an additional demand of five blocks. Meanwhile, spectrum price in the 1,800 MHz band in the Maharashtra circle increased over 43 per cent from the reserve price of Rs 364 million to Rs 521 million. The circle witnessed additional demand of 10 blocks in the 1,800 MHz band.
So, far the government has received total bids worth Rs 330.825 billion and Rs 234.723 billion for the spectrum in the 1,800 MHz and the 900 MHz band, respectively.
