Huawei has earmarked 10 per cent of its annual revenue towards research and development (R&D) activities. This is aimed at catering to the growing demand from Europe-based information and communications technology firms.

In 2012, the company re-invested more than 13 per cent of its global revenue in R&D. Further, between 2010 and 2013, Huawei doubled its investment in R&D in Europe.

Currently, the company has 13 R&D sites across Europe in countries such as Sweden, Finland, the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and Italy. The company employs more than 800 R&D specialists across its 13 R&D sites in Europe.
