Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plan to offer free roaming services to their subscribers beginning January 26, 2014.
MTNL plans to make roaming free for its customers on its network in the Delhi and Mumbai circles without any additional charges. Similarly, BSNL too plans to extend free roaming services to its customers. However, the operator is likely to charge its subscribers Rs 1 a day to avail the service.
Currently, a majority of the operators offer tariff plans under which users can access incoming calls for free while roaming by paying monthly or daily charges starting at Rs 5.
