The research firm attributes the decline in PC shipment units to the increasing availability of affordable tablets which are being used in mature and developing markets. In fact, inexpensive tablets are becoming the first choice of device for majority of the users thereby deferring the user?s decision to buy a PC. This phenomenon is also contributing to the decline in the demand for mini notebooks.
