
Tata Communications has registered an increase of 21 per cent in consolidated revenues from Rs 141,961 million in financial year 2012 to Rs 172,130 million in 2013. For the period under review, the company’s revenue from its core business increased from Rs 124,580 million in 2012 to Rs 153,181 million registering a growth of 23 per cent.
The company’s global voice services (GVS) registered a total of 62 billion voice minutes in 2013, compared to 55 billion minutes in 2013. Meanwhile, revenue from global data services (GDS) increased from 56,462 million in 2012 to Rs 67,534 million in 2013 registering a growth of 20 per cent. In the start-up business, revenues increased by 9 per cent, from Rs 17,381 million to Rs 18,948 million. The start-up earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation margins (EBITDA) stood at 10.3 per cent in 2013, compared to 0.8 per cent in 2012.
Further, the company’s consolidated gross revenues for the fourth quarter of 2013 registered a growth of 11 per cent. Tata Communications’ consolidated gross revenues increased from Rs 39,613 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 to Rs 44,005 million in the fourth quarter of 2013. For the same period, the company’s core business revenues improved by 12 per cent increasing from Rs 35,091 million to Rs 39,345 million.
The GVS business witnessed a growth in total minutes of usage from 15.2 billion minutes in the fourth quarter of 2012 to 15.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2013. Revenue from the GDS business registered an 8 per cent growth, from Rs 16,126 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 to Rs 17,463 million in the corresponding period in 2013.
The start-up business, comprising primarily of Neotel, witnessed a growth of 3 per cent increasing from Rs 4,522 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 to Rs 4,660 million. The company’s EBITDA margins increased from 5.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2012 to 7.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2013.
