Reliance Infotel, which is investing 100 million in its long-term-evolution (LTE) network, is going to deploy software products provided by SPIRIT for voice and video calls over LTE (VoLTE), say news reports.

Currently, SPIRIT DSP, voice and video over IP engines is serving more than 1 billion LTE users in more than 100 countries. SPIRIT DSP provides HD voice and video quality as a part of IP multimedia subsystem/rich communication services on smartphones and PC tablets functioning on the Android and iOS platforms and with PCs with Mac operating systems or windows.

Using SPIRIT DSP, Reliance Infotel will offer its subscribers high-quality services as an alternative to skype over cellular networks. The operator will be able to serve customers who have been using services from other operators and commercial over-the-top service providers.
